About Me

Welcome to my CLHS English Class This Year!  (September 2016 -June 2017)

I am originally from Saint John, NB, where I taught for 9 years before being posted to Cold Lake in 2006 with my husband, who is in the Air Force.   Throughout my career, I have mainly taught English courses including International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement.  However, I have also taught Legal Studies, Social Studies, Political Science, and Drama.

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree (Majors in English and Political Science) and Bachelor of Education Degree (Concentrations in Secondary English and Special Education) from the University of New Brunswick and am currently taking courses towards my Masters in English.

I love reading and writing.  Some of my favorite classic authors are Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, and Charlotte Bronte.  I also love reading contemporary Young Adult fiction, in particular Sarah J. Maas, Amanda Hocking, John Green and Cassandra Clare.

This is my 7th year teaching at CLHS and I am very excited about the upcoming school year and getting to know you and your ideas through our literary adventures! If you have any questions, please contact me at the above number, or at Tanya.Hedberg@nlsd.ab.ca
