Education Strategic Planning Consultation Process

January 18, 2012

Re: Early Dismissal from School

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Northern Lights School Division is embarking on an exciting new path!.  School systems typically operate on three year planning cycles and we have just successfully completed another three year cycle.

To help us develop our new future plans and set direction for the Northern Lights School Division, we are hoping to engage parents, students, staff and the community at large in a dialogue on education.

To begin this process, our Strategic Planning Facilitator, Gregory Schroeder, will be meeting with all school staff members in the Cold Lake area.  This will give our staff an opportunity to share their vision for the future of education in the Cold Lake community and help us set priorities for our new three year plan.

In order to all our staff to participate in this consultation, we will need to dismiss school at 2:00 PM on February8, 2012.  This special early dismissal is a one-time event.

More information on our public Strategic Planning consulation will be forthcoming shortly, and we look forward to hearing your voice and vision regarding the future of education in this community.

Sincerely,

Roger Nippard
Superintendent of Schools
Northern Lights School Division No. 69
